What a fabulous debut this one is, a beautifully written rural romance, I felt the pace of the small country town Willow’s Bend in Victoria, Australia where there are lots of sheep and wheat a pub the CWA a close knit town where everyone is there to help each other and of course know what is going on. Willow’s Bend is where Amber Hutchinson finds herself after being left the pub by the grandfather she never knew she had and here starts a journey for Amber that she will struggle with at times as she finds things out and opens her heart to love with sheep farmer Zach Wentworth.

Amber has never felt wanted, her own mother eventually walked out on her when she was sixteen, thank heavens for her best friend Zoe and Zoe’s parents who stepped in but they could never really get her to feel that she would be good enough to love ever. Amber works hard and does well in her profession but just when she is made redundant she gets a call from a solicitor telling her she has been left a pub in the country. Amber arrives to the most run-down pub she has ever seen but nothing will make her change her mind about what she plans to do and she plans to do it single handed, that is until she meets Zach and the people of the town, opening up and accepting help is not something that comes easy to Amber.

Zach has lived in Willow’s Bend his whole life he has been burnt by his last girlfriend and has issues regarding his parent’s deaths, but when he literally finds a woman trying to break into Angus’s pub, being the gentleman he is he offers help which of course is refused. He is drawn to Amber from the start and does not give up with doing what he can to help, he is there for her when he can, but he is unsure of what will happen in the future after all not many people want to stay in small towns.

Amber and Zach are both damaged in some ways from their pasts but so loving and caring with big hearts and Amber is probably one of the most stubborn heroines that I have met and Zach is not pushy at all but steady and there all the time. I loved the build-up of their relationship it was heart-warming and moving with a sensual pull that kept them both thinking and dreaming. But now was the time for them both to take a chance on love and a future, this is a fabulous story one that had me turning the pages and left me one happy reader. Thank you MS Davies and congrats on a fabulous debut I hope to see more books set in Willow’s Bend.

5/5 stars for a fabulous story
