I could barely put this book down Maggie Christensen really knows how to bring life to her characters, this is the first book in a new series and Maggie is a marvel at older heroes and heroines and I loved it, what can I say, I do highly recommend that you pick this one up and get to know Jo and Col and to feel a part of Granite Springs.

Jo has been divorced from her husband for five years and she has three adult children and four grandchildren and Jo is happy in the house called Yarran her home, she has recently lost her best friend Alice and although she has been friends with her husband Col she has become closer to him. Jo hadn’t thought that this could happen at her age and with pressure from her children for different reasons they keep their relationship to themselves till the time is right to open up.

Col and his wife Alice have been best friends with Jo and Gordon forever but now that Jo is divorced and Col is a widower, the time is right for them both to think about the future and to think about themselves there is a beautiful sensual pull between them as well as the true friendship and this is what they need. But finding love again doesn’t always run smoothly especially with an ex-husband and a couple of children interfering.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story I thought Col was a true gentleman caring and loving and Jo what a great woman a loving mother and friend she goes out of her way to think of others before herself and there were times I wanted to tell her to put herself first because Col was what she needed in her life, together they could find love and happiness. This is such a beautiful story filled with emotion, I did love seeing the beautiful Jo get the life she deserves this is one not to be missed and I am looking forward to Kay’s story.
