I thoroughly enjoyed this story MS Hurley-Moore knows how to pull a reader in with her stories this one is set in a small Victorian country town Harlington, when a terrible act of violence turned a family upside down and left three children orphaned, the children moved away but now eleven years later the eldest Berry McCalister has decided it is time to go home and make a few decisions.
Berry arrives at her old home, the last time she had seen it was her tenth birthday when violence changed her life now she must decide if they will sell the house or keep it, either way Berry will be here for a while as some renovations will need to be done. She runs into her old friend Nate Tarrant and as they spend time together their feelings grow for each other but Berry also feels that there is a lot more that she should know about what happened eleven years ago someone in town is keeping secrets and Berry is determined to uncover them which put her in danger.
Nate doesn’t remember much about Berry and her family but he knows what happened that day everyone in town does but he is drawn to her and is happy to help in any way he can and when threats are made against her he is determined to keep her safe, there are a few people asking questions and Nate and Berry work together to uncover secrets as they fall for each other.
This is a fast paced story that had me turning the pages, lots of intrigue and suspense and a beautiful romance growing as together they uncover the truth of what happened that day and the McCalister legacy from many years ago I enjoyed going back in time to find out what happened, this is a story that I would highly recommend it is a wonderful rural romance thank you MS Hurley-Moore for a great story.
