If you are looking for a story that is sure to pull you in from the start and you love a good mystery and family secrets then this one is the one to pick up, set over two time lines and two countries, come along and meet romance author Maddison Browne as she starts uncovering her grandmother’s past.

It is 2016 and Maddison is living in the mountains of Victoria after breaking up with her boyfriend and the words are not coming for her new story like they usually do, when she opens the mail to find out that she has inherited an antique grand piano from the great grandmother she never knew she had, Lady Rose Hampton, Maddie was always under the impression her grandmother, Abigail was an orphan.

Maddie decides that she must go to England and discover the truth about her family, after meeting with John Nettlewood the family solicitor she starts searching through the diaries of Lady Rose and uncovers a secret that has been kept for over eighty years and that explains a lot about the grandmother she hardly knew.

Maddie meets her great uncle Gem and other family members which opens up a whole new world for Maddie and then there is James Carlyle a lawyer from Australia who helped discover Maddie in the first place, will he be the one that Maddie can open her heart too and where will Maddie live?

I loved this one, it was compelling reading discovering the past, what happens to people when they fall in love perhaps with the wrong person, it is beautifully written with wonderful characters, Maddie, James and Uncle Gem were my favourites, they were so easy to love, so real. This is one that I highly recommend, one not to be missed.
