Sistermoon by Kirsten Miller

Catherine has it all, she's a successful film maker, has the prefect family, a loving supportive husband and a very bright ten year old daughter. The only snag in her happiness is that her beloved father is busy deteriorating, he slips further away every day and sadly it is into the world of dementia.

Ad he slips further away so does the guilt and memories they hold, they both know what truly happened to her sister. As Catherine realizes her adult success came at quite the price she also has to come to terms with the silences her past holds.

This was a really stunning and very emotional read and had me in tears for most of the book, as in I pretty much used up an entire box of Kleenex.

Right from the start I could figure out what happened to the sister and it broke my heart into a million pieces. But the author also showed through this event how precious life and how hiding from the past does not allow you to be able to forget, the past will always linger in the back of one's mind there is simply never escaping it.

This is a book about growing up, exclusion to a that perfect click we all want to be apart of in life and of abuse. It was moving on every kind of emotional level one's mind can conjure up and the addition of family secrets made this read even more intriguing.

If it does not sound like your cup of tea am going to urge you to read it anyway, because it is so much more than a book about secrets and abuse, it's about learning to grow and being able to understand the path of our lives and of letting go of hurt.

I highly recommend this read for all fans of reading, you will be hooked from start to finish!
