Rania Battany has written another gorgeous story, this time a duel time line and can I say wow, this author writes with such emotion and feeling she digs deep into the souls of her characters and brings them to life on the pages, it is a heart-felt and heart-warming story of love. I loved getting to know Chloe, June and Arthur not to mention Matteo and the other characters that helped make this story so good.

It is 2018 and Chloe has been so badly hurt by the man she thought she would spend the rest of her life with she is determined to leave technology behind, the digital age is not for her, and can she live without it? She is now living with her grandparents June and Arthur, their love is honest and life long, Chloe puts her heart and soul into re-opening the café, Tea Room that her grandmother opened in 1950, the building has been abandoned for many years but here she discovers untold secrets that could change everything that Chloe believes in.

In 1959 women do not normally run their own business but June is strong and determined to do this and open up a Tea Room, she has the building in a beautiful area near the beach but it needs lots of work and for that she needs someone to help, she meets Arthur a builder and she asks him to help her, Arthur is not sure about this after all he comes from a very different world than June, he is from the wrong side of the tracks but he cannot help but say yes and as each week goes by their time together brings them closer together, Arthur’s heart will not listen to his thinking but there are reason why they should not fall in love.

This is a beautifully written love story one that had me turning the pages Chloe had so much going on, friends trying to set her up with blind dates, her experiment with living in 1995 without the internet and then the secrets she uncovers about her beloved grandparents who love unconditionally no matter what. This is an emotional story that had me in tears at times and smiling so much at other times. I loved getting to know Chloe, I loved her enthusiasm for life and love her openness and I loved Matteo as well he was so good at helping Chloe. This is one that I would highly recommend, I never miss a Rania Battany story I loved it.

My thanks to the author for my copy to read and review
